Fat bomb, freezer fudge, decadent nibbles of dangerously delicious delights…they go by many names, but no matter what you call them, they’re darn tasty! Not to mention the fact that the healthy fats keep you satisfied and energized for luxuriously long periods of time making them an ideal daytime dessert or simply just an between-meals pop-in-your-mouth pleasure. Personally I love these little guys about 1-hour to 30 minutes before a workout when it’s been a while since I had my last meal. With the energizing and detoxifying effects of matcha, and the anti-inflammatory and repairing nature of moringa, they’re particularly fantastic for physical activity, getting you through a high intensity workout or strength-based sesh.
Further nutritional benefits below…
Coconut manna + oil: coconut-based products in their unrefined natural form are one of the best immune boosters thanks to their antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-parasitic, properties. Coconut is also high in antioxidants, and can improve skin and hair. Not only that, but they’re super-packed with vitamins and minerals (calcium, magnesium etc.) that are integral for bone and teeth health, and the healthy fats diminish blood sugar imbalances while keeping you satiated and energized for longer.
Almond butter: loaded with antioxidants, vitamin E, and manganese, almonds are great for tissue repair, skin health, and immunity. The magnesium hit also helps with stress management, blood sugar balance, and blood pressure control. Almonds are also a pretty solid source of protein for added satiety and muscle maintenance.
Matcha: The detoxifying effects of EGCG and other polyphenols in matcha arise from their role in helping to rid your body of free radicals, which can damage cells, leading to signs of premature aging and tissue damage. Matcha has also been shown to be one of the most potent detoxification aids available, helping with liver function, blood sugar management, and immune function.
Moringa: This ancient plant is extremely rich in nutrients such as vitamins B6, B2, C, and A, as well as iron and magnesium, but integral to energy balance, and tissue repair and maintenance. Morninga has also been shown to aid in blood sugar management and inflammation control, and can safeguard against oxidative stress thanks to it’s high quantity of bioavailable antioxidants.
